Sena MP Shrikant Shinde to tour 22 Maharashtra districts ahead of ZP polls

Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde will undertake a two-month state-wide tour from May 16 to strengthen the party's grassroots organisation ahead of the upcoming zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections in Maharashtra. Shinde will tour 22 districts and 100 assembly constituencies to review booth-level strategy and address local challenges by interacting with office-bearers and elected representatives. ''During this tour, preparations for the upcoming local self-government elections, booth-level organisation building, organisational strategy, and a detailed review of the functioning of various Shiv Sena units and departments will be discussed,'' a statement said. There will be a special emphasis on appointing booth-level agents and booth presidents under the SIR campaign, it said. According to the statement, the first phase of the tour is scheduled to commence from north Maharashtra, covering the districts of Nashik, Dhule, Ahilyanagar, Beed, Amravati, and Akola. In the second phase in June, Shinde will visit Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Yavatmal, Washim, Wardha, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli. The final phase in July will cover Buldhana, Jalna, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Thane, and Palghar.
