In Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district, senior police officers have switched from jeeps to bicycles in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s austerity call, promoting energy conservation and healthier lifestyles. In a significant shift towards sustainability, senior police officials in Chhattisgarh's Kabirdham district have adopted cycling as their primary mode of transport. This move, led by Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh Chhavai, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for public austerity and energy conservation.

On Tuesday, officers swapped their fuel-driven jeeps for bicycles, riding from their homes to the district headquarters. The initiative is not only aimed at reducing fuel consumption but also at promoting a healthy lifestyle among officers and the community. Chhavai encouraged all personnel to consider walking or cycling, especially those living close to their workplaces.

This effort comes at a time when the country faces economic challenges due to ongoing conflicts in West Asia. Chhavai emphasized that energy conservation could help bolster national strength in tough times. He urged citizens to contribute by using less fuel, advocating for alternatives such as carpooling and public transport, in harmony with PM Modi’s broader economic measures.
