In a disturbing incident in central Delhi's Nabi Karim area, a 28-year-old newlywed woman was discovered dead, her body stuffed into a bed box, according to police reports on Tuesday. The case has taken a serious turn as her husband remains untraceable, with allegations of dowry harassment emerging as a potential motive.
The grim discovery was made on May 8 when a landlord in the Laxmanpuri area reported a foul smell from the couple's rented room. Upon investigation, police officers found the decomposed body of the Haldwani native woman, who had married Mohammad Ejaz of Bihar on April 26, inside the room. Both the victim and the accused belonged to the same community.
Authorities have arrested the husband's brother, Sarfaraz, based on dowry harassment claims. Meanwhile, police are actively searching for the primary suspect, Ejaz, through technical surveillance and local intelligence. Multiple teams are scrutinizing CCTV footage and conducting raids in hopes of apprehending the fugitive husband soon.
