A heightened security alert was triggered in Bengaluru after police discovered explosive materials, including gelatin sticks, a timer, and a circuit, near the travel route of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discovery was made close to the Art of Living Ashram, where PM Modi was attending an event.
State Home Minister G Parameshwara confirmed that similar materials had been found and that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has shown interest in participating in the probe. The ongoing investigation follows a tip-off to police about a possible bomb threat in the area.
After a thorough search, law enforcement officials found the suspicious items in a cardboard box alongside a roadside, just kilometers away from the event venue. A suspect has been detained, and the investigation continues to determine if there was a significant threat or potential conspiracy linked to these materials.
