Bribery Scandal Unveiled: State Insurance Official Arrested
A senior assistant in Rajasthan's State Insurance department, Shekhar Mathuria, was arrested for accepting a Rs 1 lakh bribe. He allegedly demanded Rs 7.5 lakh to process an insurance claim, later settling for Rs 1.5 lakh. The arrest was made by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Udaipur.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan has taken significant action against corruption by arresting Shekhar Mathuria, a senior assistant of the State Insurance and Provident Fund Department in Udaipur, for accepting a substantial bribe.
The arrest was made when Mathuria was caught red-handed accepting Rs 1 lakh, identified as the initial instalment of a total Rs 1.5 lakh bribe, as part of a settlement to process and increase the amount of a death claim case. Originally, Mathuria had demanded a steep Rs 7.5 lakh from the complainant to pass the insurance claim.
This operation, executed under the vigilant supervision of DIG Rameshwar Singh, has resulted in a case being registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with further investigations ongoing to unravel more details of the corruption scandal.
