Mystery Unfolds: Partially Burnt Body Discovered in Himachal Forest
A woman's partially burnt body, yet to be identified, was found in a forest near a police camp in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmour district. A suspect from Ambala has been arrested. Authorities are investigating whether the crime occurred in Barara, Haryana, or locally in the Paonta forest.

Authorities have arrested a suspect following the discovery of a woman's partially burnt body in a forest near a police battalion camp in Sirmour district, Himachal Pradesh, officials reported. The unidentified woman, presumably in her late 30s, was discovered on Wednesday morning in the Karaunde Wali Ghati area, near Dhaula Kuan.
The arrest took place at Bata Bridge, Paonta Sahib, on Wednesday evening, following the examination of CCTV footage and cooperation with Haryana Police. The accused hails from Barara town in Ambala district, Haryana. Notably, he already faced a kidnapping charge in Ambala.
District Superintendent of Police Nischint Singh Negi disclosed that the postmortem is scheduled for Thursday at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan. Investigations are probing if the murder occurred in Barara and whether her body was transported and set afire in the Paonta forest.
