Gyanvapi Mosque Survey Case Awaits Supreme Court Decision

In a significant development, the Allahabad High Court deferred the case concerning the Gyanvapi mosque's ASI survey until July 20, as the Supreme Court examines the matter. The dispute over the mosque's wazukhana has captured widespread attention due to differing religious claims.
The court is hearing a civil revision petition submitted by Rakhi Singh, who is challenging the Varanasi District Judge's previous refusal to initiate an Archaeological Survey of the wazukhana, citing the continuation of proceedings in the Supreme Court.
Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal underscored the necessity of waiting for the Supreme Court's guidance, which significantly influences the proceedings. Rakhi Singh contends the current court order regarding the ASI survey excludes a contentious structure identified differently by Hindu and Muslim groups.
