In a significant crackdown on narcotics smuggling, authorities apprehended four individuals, including a woman and her adolescent son, for their alleged involvement in a heroin trafficking network. Police seized a total of 7.85 kg of heroin from the accused.

The operation, orchestrated by the police based on precise intelligence, culminated in a successful trap near Ghall Khurd bus stand. Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh revealed the arrests of Akashdeep Singh, alias Akash, and Robin Kumar, who were found in possession of 1.53 kg of heroin.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Santosh Rani, believed to be in collaboration with Akash and Robin, and a subsequent raid at her residence yielded an additional 2.15 kg of heroin. Connections to a Pakistan-based smuggler, Shah Pathan, were also uncovered, highlighting cross-border narcotics ties.
