A CBI team interrogated Raj Singh's family regarding the murder of Chandranath Rath, aide to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, officials said. The team, which arrived in Ballia, questioned Singh's brother and mother, seizing documents and CCTV footage from their premises.
Deep Shikha Singh, Raj Singh's sister, expressed hope in the CBI's impartiality while requesting security for her brother. Raj Singh's mother, Jamwanti, confirmed the family's full cooperation with investigators. Meanwhile, CBI questioned additional parties linked to the case, including showroom owners and Raj's acquaintances.
Harivansh Singh, Raj Singh's lawyer, assured reporters that CBI would resolve the case. Raj Singh was arrested with two others suspected in Rath's shooting on May 6. The arrest followed a traced UPI payment related to the assailants. CBI's inquiry continues as motives and potential hiring for the crime remain uncertain.
