Dramatic Capture: Notorious Gangster Injured in Sambalpur Police Shootout

A wanted gangster was injured in a gunfight with police in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Sunday, according to an official statement. Manish Sahu, involved in over 14 criminal cases, faced the police during a vehicle check at Burla's Planetarium Chhak early morning.
Ignoring police signals to stop, the driver of the suspect's car veered towards Hirakud Dam’s Right Dyke Road. As police gave chase and intercepted the vehicle near Fishery Chhak, an occupant fired three shots, resulting in police retaliating with two shots in self-defense, injuring Sahu.
In addition to Sahu, three associates were apprehended. Police seized a car, firearm, mobile phones, and banned cough syrup bottles. Sahu received treatment at VIMSAR, Burla, while further investigations, including action under the NDPS Act, are underway.
