In a significant development, Delhi Police have arrested the second suspect involved in the northeast Delhi's Shastri Park shooting incident. The accused, Sameer, 21, was taken into custody after careful analysis of evidence from various sources, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The incident, which took place on May 15, involved the shooting of Ehsan, a 54-year-old e-rickshaw parking attendant. According to police, the attack occurred following a heated argument after Ehsan objected to two men sitting in his e-rickshaw. One of the suspects was caught at the scene by bystanders, but Sameer managed to evade immediate arrest.
Recovered from Sameer's possession were a country-made pistol, along with live and spent cartridges. During interrogation, Sameer reportedly confessed to his participation in the crime, citing the verbal altercation as the trigger for the shooting. The matter is still under investigation, authorities stated.
