West Bengal CID Intensifies Probe on 2021 Post-Poll Violence

The West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has escalated its efforts into the 2021 post-election violence cases by initiating 458 fresh inquiries and registering 181 new First Information Reports (FIRs), as confirmed by an official statement on Monday.

In a bid to ensure thorough investigation, the CID has decided to revisit and reopen 59 previously closed cases, where final reports had already been submitted. This move comes in response to numerous complaints alleging incidents of violence, attacks, and intimidation in the aftermath of the assembly election results.
