Five-year-old girl raped in Bareilly, two minor boys detained

Two minor boys have been apprehended in Bareilly district after allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in a field, with the victim undergoing medical treatment and further legal proceedings underway.

Two minor boys allegedly raped a five-year-old girl in the Baheri area of Bareilly district and both accused have been apprehended, officials said on Thursday.

Police Circle Officer Arun Singh said during an Akhand Ramayana recitation held in a village in the Baheri police station area on Wednesday, the two minor boys lured the girl into a field and raped her there.

He said shortly after the incident, the girl returned home covered in blood and told her family what happened.

Singh said upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and sent the girl to the district hospital for treatment.

Baheri Police Station in-charge Dinesh Kumar Sharma said both accused are minors and have been detained.

He said the girl is being treated at the district hospital and is going through a medical examination, as further legal proceedings are underway.
