A father-son duo, Bhikham Ram and Kamlesh Kumar, were arrested in the Khundian area with approximately 883 grams of cannabis during a routine police check.

A father-son duo was arrested with around 883 grams of cannabis (charas) in the Khundian area, police said on Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Bhikham Ram (55) and his son Kamlesh Kumar (26), residents of Bhalei village under Churah Tehsil, Chamba district.

According to police, the accused were intercepted in the Surani area during a routine check.

The police found cannabis in their possession, after which both were arrested.

Dehra's Superintendent of Police, Mayank Chaudhary, said a case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, has been registered against them, and further investigation is underway.
