Major Liquor Bust: Rs 66 Lakh Worth Seized in Bengaluru
In a significant operation, Excise Department officials seized illegal liquor valued at approximately Rs 66 lakh in Bengaluru. A person was arrested following a tip-off about the illicit transportation of liquor via a goods train from Delhi. The raid was conducted at Yeshwanthpur Railway Station.

In a major crackdown, Excise Department officials in Bengaluru have seized illegal liquor worth an estimated Rs 66 lakh. The significant bust was made after officials acted on credible information regarding illegal liquor transportation through a goods train from Delhi, arriving in Bengaluru.
The raid, spearheaded by Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Bharatesh and assisted by Railway Protection Force personnel, took place in front of the AVG Logistics Limited parcel godown at Yeshwanthpur Railway Station. The operation led to the discovery of 1,118 bottles containing 1,042 litres of suspected counterfeit foreign liquor, including various premium brands of whisky and vodka, all packed in 74 cartons.
One suspect has been apprehended and is currently in judicial custody. Excise Minister R B Timmapur praised the proactive measures taken by the officials and urged continued vigilance against illegal liquor smuggling across state and international borders.
