A revenue officer in Chhattisgarh's Surguja district has alleged that BJP legislator Ramkumar Toppo and his supporters assaulted him over a disagreement. The incident followed complaints by Toppo's cousin against the officer for purported misbehavior, which he has denied.

According to the officer, Tushar Manik, troubles began when a woman related to the MLA visited his office about a solvency certificate required for a parole process. Manik explained the paperwork was incomplete and required further processing. Discontent ensued, leading to an altercation reported between the parties at a subsequent meeting in Rajapur.

Surguja Collector Ajeet Vasant confirmed that both sides have lodged complaints, and police investigations are underway. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Fagesh Sinha, who was present during the incident, stated Manik was indeed attacked by the MLA's supporters.

Meanwhile, Toppo's cousin Seema Dhanki claimed Manik's refusal to assist was accompanied by inappropriate behavior. The official maintains he followed protocol and did not engage disrespectfully. Law enforcement will determine further actions based on their findings.
