India-China Agree on Steps to Enhance Border Peace

India and China conducted discussions aimed at improving peace along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. Both nations emphasized the importance of sustaining border peace for normalizing bilateral relations. The conversations were described as constructive, focusing on future engagements and addressing various border management issues.

India and China engaged in productive discussions in Beijing concerning the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh with a mutual understanding that maintaining border peace is crucial to improving bilateral ties.

The Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) meetings emphasized peaceful engagement, reviewing progress in maintaining tranquility along the LAC, which has gradually helped normalize relationships strained since the Galwan Valley clashes. Delegations from both countries also prepared for the upcoming Special Representatives' meeting in China.

India stressed the need for an early expert-level engagement on trans-border rivers, while discussions covered delimitation and cross-border cooperation. Past dialogues, including the Special Representatives dialogue in New Delhi, were pivotal in easing tensions, with both sides withdrawing troops from essential friction points.
