Security Forces Intensify Search for Hostages in Manipur

Manipur's security forces are actively pursuing operations to locate hostages taken by armed groups. Efforts have resulted in several arrests and the release of 31 hostages, while efforts continue to free others still held. The state's chief minister emphasizes grave concern over the situation.

Search operations are being heightened by security forces in Manipur to locate hostages taken by armed groups. The Chief Minister, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, confirmed that efforts are underway to resolve this crisis swiftly and effectively.

During a visit to Kangpokpi district's Makhan Naga village, Singh announced the arrest of four suspects connected to the kidnapping of six Naga individuals. Previously, more than 38 hostages were taken in May, but 31 have since been released, including Naga women and Kuki members.

There remains significant concern as six Naga men are still missing, and their status is a primary focus of ongoing investigations. Additionally, the Kuki Inpi Manipur claims that 14 of their community members remain captive by Naga groups.

At Makhan Naga Village, relief provisions have been distributed to displaced individuals. Singh reassured these affected residents of vigorous efforts to bring safety and closure.
