Authorities in Maharashtra's Palghar district have charged three people with deceiving a tribal farmer out of Rs 50.27 lakh. This case involves fraudulent activity concerning his compensation for land acquired for the Vadhvan Port project.

Official records indicate that Kiran Pandu Palava from Dahanu taluka received Rs 2,91,89,126 for his land. However, exploiting his lack of education, the accused conned him at a private bank, acquiring his sign-off on unauthorized documents and rerouting communications to their own digital contacts.

The fraud resulted in the wrongfully obtained amount being transferred out without Palava's consent. Upon realizing the deceit, Palava filed a formal complaint. The police have initiated an inquiry, urging community vigilance against such scams while stressing the importance of safeguarding personal financial information.
