In recent law enforcement actions, Jammu district police arrested two individuals for drug possession in separate incidents. Authorities discovered a significant quantity of narcotics, including almost 4 kg of poppy straw and a substance similar to heroin.

In the first incident, police stationed at Nadhal Naka on the Udhampur-Dhar road stopped a goods vehicle. A search resulted in the seizure of approximately 3.95 kg of poppy straw from the vehicle's cabin. The driver, identified as Vicky from Kapurthala in Punjab, was unable to provide legitimate documentation for the drugs, leading to his arrest and the filing of charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Subsequently, police intercepted a motorcycle at the same checkpoint, uncovering a heroin-like substance possessed by Anwer Bhutt, a resident of Udhampur district. Separate legal proceedings were commenced at the Jhajjar Kotli police station against him.
