Alleged Carjacker Shot in Dwarka After Attempt to Snatch Officer's Gun

In a dramatic turn of events in Dwarka, Delhi Police shot a 26-year-old suspect in the leg after he allegedly tried to snatch a service pistol from an officer while escaping an arrest attempt. The incident came to light after a distress call about a car robbery initiated a police response late at night on May 27.
The confrontation occurred following a robbery in Baba Haridass Nagar, where two men were reported to have stolen a car by force. As police continued their search, another emergency call reported the suspect being shot. Upon arrival, officers found the injured suspect, identified as Aakash, receiving treatment for his wounds at a local hospital. Police are now focused on locating his accomplice and inspecting the crime scene.
The Dwarka district police assert that warnings were given before the officer fired his weapon in self-defense. Meanwhile, further investigation is being conducted into allegations raised by the local Aam Aadmi Party chief regarding police conduct during such incidents.
