Ajit Doval, India's National Security Adviser, held pivotal discussions in Moscow with Denis Manturov, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister, focusing on defense and energy partnerships. The dialogues came amid ongoing global tensions, especially in West Asia, and the competitive dynamics of a multipolar world.

The meeting coincided with Doval's participation in the inaugural International Security Forum and the 14th Meeting of High Representatives for Security Matters. His visit highlighted India's longstanding collaboration with Russia in the space sector, underscored by interactions at Roscosmos and a live session with cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station.

Addressing security concerns, Doval emphasized decisive counteraction against terrorism and criticized existing 'double standards'. He also stressed the strategic importance of securing international trade routes like the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, crucial for global energy and commerce.

Russia has played a significant role in advancing India's space ambitions, notably assisting in the Gaganyaan program. The conversation between Doval and Russian leaders reaffirmed their commitment to overcoming global challenges through mutual cooperation.
