Travancore Devaswom Board to Audit Temple Assets

The Travancore Devaswom Board plans to digitally audit valuables and transactions in its temples to ensure transparency, following a Kerala High Court mandate. This move comes amid allegations of missing items from the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, which authorities deny. A board meeting will address the issue further.

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) is set to conduct an audit of the valuables and assets of the temples under its jurisdiction. The board's president, K Jayakumar, announced on Saturday that an updated digital record system will be employed to secure these records from tampering.

This initiative aligns with a directive from the Kerala High Court, issued to bolster transparency in temple governance. The decision comes against a backdrop of recent allegations regarding missing valuables from the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, charges the temple's administration disputes. Nonetheless, the government has committed to investigating the claims, and the board will address these issues in an upcoming meeting.
