Telangana Cyber Security Officer Arrested in Bribery Case
A Telangana Cyber Security Bureau inspector was arrested for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe to exclude individuals from a cyber fraud investigation. The accused officer was caught after accepting part of the bribe, with further investigations revealing additional unaccounted assets.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday detained an inspector from the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, accusing him of demanding a bribe in connection to a cyber fraud case. The officer had allegedly requested Rs nine lakh to prevent the involvement of certain family members and friends in the investigation.
The suspect, Bathula Mahendar, had already accepted Rs five lakh before demanding the remaining amount. The ACB apprehended him while he was negotiating the outstanding Rs four lakh at his office. Following his arrest, searches of his residence led to the discovery of Rs 13 lakh in unaccounted cash, gold jewelry, and several property documents. The officer will face judicial proceedings as the ACB continues their investigation into his assets.
