Preparations for Amarnath Yatra Reviewed in Kashmir

As the Amarnath Yatra approaches, divisional commissioner Anshul Garg assesses readiness in Kashmir. With a focus on infrastructure, healthcare, sanitation, and robust coordination among stakeholders, officials aim for a seamless pilgrimage. Key service providers have been engaged to ensure pilgrim safety and convenience.

The Kashmir Divisional Commissioner, Anshul Garg, recently evaluated the readiness for the annual Amarnath Yatra commencing in early July. The review focused on ensuring smooth passage for pilgrims through enhanced infrastructure and essential services.

During his visit to Pahalgam, Garg chaired a meeting to examine the implementation of infrastructure improvements and service coordination at key yatra locations. He emphasized uninterrupted water and power supply, directing relevant departments for effective preparedness.

Officials from the Border Roads Organisation were tasked to accelerate road maintenance ensuring safe travel. Health authorities were instructed to deploy sufficient medical staff, while municipal bodies were charged with maintaining sanitation standards.

Garg engaged with stakeholders like transporters and hoteliers to address their concerns and leverage their contributions for a successful yatra. He visited Chandanwari and Nunwan base-camps to inspect progress and ensure all facilities would be operational before the pilgrimage begins.
