According to the police, Singh’s driver allegedly hit the police official's motorbike while reversing his car. He had to jump off the vehicle to save himself from getting injured, police had claimed.

An argument broke out between the driver and the official during which the MLA intervened and allegedly hurled abusive words at the ASI. The incident was also recorded by someone, and the video later went viral on media, police had said.

Singh had alleged that it was the official who abused her first, leading to the entire episode, and the police were targeting her because she belonged to a particular party.
