Drastic steps needed to stop climate change, Germany's Scholz says

Germany's finance minister Olaf Scholz said on Friday "drastic steps" were needed to counter climate change as European Union officials meet to discuss energy taxation.

An international approach was needed on energy taxes to reach climate targets, Scholz told reporters as he arrived at a meeting of EU finance ministers in Helsinki which will address the matter.
