Additional secretary dies in road mishap
An additional secretary in the Maharashtra government died Sunday when his motorcycle collided with a tempo truck in Pune, police said Monday. The incident occurred in the evening when Suhas Chavan was headed to the residence of his brother in Hadapsar area, a police official said. He was 49.
Chavan, who was seriously injured in the accident, was rushed to hospital, but died before treatment, he said. He was working as Additional Secretary at Mantralaya or state administrative headquarters in Mumbai.
The driver of the tempo truck fled after the incident. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway..
