An alleged member of the Guddu gang who was released on bail six month ago was arrested in Dwarka's Uttam Nagar area, police said Friday. The accused was identified as 24-year-old Mukesh, a resident of Uttam Nagar, they said.

According to Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), police received a tip-off following which a trap was laid near Jhanda Chowk, Uttam Nagar. Mukesh was apprehended and one loaded pistol was recovered from his possession, police said.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Mukesh was a henchman of the Guddu gang and had carried out robbery, extortion and threatened rival gang members. PTI NIT

******************** Neeraj Bawana gang member arrested

New Delhi, Apr 12 (PTI) The Delhi Police has arrested a 22-year-old alleged member of Neeraj Bawana and Monu Bajitpur gang from Outer Ring Road area, police said. The accused has been identified as Nishant, a resident of Bawana, they said.

According to a senior police officer, police got a tip-off about Nishant and later he was arrested from Badli Bus stand, Ring Road Delhi. He was an active member of Neeraj Bawana and Monu Bajitpur Gang and also wanted in a murder case of Shalimar Bagh area, police said.

One country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession, they added. PTI NIT

Fire at sweet shop in Dwarka

New Delhi, Apr 12 (PTI) A massive fire broke out at a sweet shop in Dwarka's Bindapur area, the fire officials said. The fire department received a call at around 2.50 am on Friday and 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, a fire official said.

The fire was brought under control and there was no casualty, the fire officials said. The department said that the fire started from a three-storey sweet shop and later spread to the neighbouring four-storey garment shop.

Short circuit is suspected to be cause of the fire and both the buildings burnt completely, the fire department said.
