AP police constable opens fire inside city bus in Hyderabad Hyderabad, May 2 (PTI): A head constable of the Andhra Pradesh police allegedly opened fire in a moving local bus here Thursday following an argument with co-passengers over his travelling on the footboard, police said. Srinivas, whose identity was not known at the time of the incident, was detained after the police tracked him based on an eye-witness account.

No one was injured in the incident and the bullet pierced through the roof of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus, the police said. Soon after the firing, the constable, clad in a safari suit, alighted from the bus and melted into the crowd, they said.

"Based on the information given by an eye-witness, we tracked him at Kukatpally here, " a senior police official told PTI. He was identified as a constable of the intelligence Security Wing of the Andhra police and posted in the city.

Srinivas was being questioned, the official said. According to a TSRTC official, the co-passengers asked the constable, who was on the footboard, to move aside or get in since he was blocking their way.

This led to an argument and he drew the weapon and fired, the official said.
