Two held with charas in Gujarat

Two persons have been arrested with 24.2 kg charas worth Rs 1.20 crore near Shamlaji in Aravalli district of Gujarat, police said Wednesday. Teams of Aravalli Special Operations Group and Shamlaji police found the consignment hidden in a chamber of a car near Ansol village Tuesday evening, an official said.

The accused have been identified as Gulshan Kumar Chamar, a resident of Ambala in Haryana district, and Gopalchandra Koli, who hails from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. They were carrying Kashmiri charas in 24 plastic packets that were hidden in the car cavity, the official said.

A case has been registered against the duo under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway..
