SC says Muzaffarpur shelter home case would be heard by vacation bench on June 3 keeping in view urgency of the case. SC has also directed CBI to file a status report by June 3 on its probe into the alleged murder of 11 girls at the shelter home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur.
The cases started when allegations of sexual exploitation of the girls were first highlighted in an audit report submitted by the Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Mumbai, to the state's Social Welfare Department in April 2018.
An FIR was lodged in May 2018 against 11 people, including Thakur, the owner of the NGO which ran the government-funded shelter home for destitute girls.
