Freight rates fall on heavy position of trucks

Freight rates for the nine-metric tonne payload section for Goa, Coimbatore, and Guwahati slipped by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following large position of trucks amid restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said besides excess availability of trucks, reduced cargo movements pulled down the freight rates of Coimbatore, Guwahati, and Goa.

Capital to Guwahati, Coimbatore, and Goa freight rates went down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 60,000, Rs 71,000 and Rs 58,000, respectively.
