Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has already arrived in Chandigarh to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) related to Bargari sacrilege case. SIT of the Punjab Police is likely to question the 51-year old actor in connection with an alleged deal (of 100 crore INR) mediated by him between the detained self-declared godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and former Deputy CM of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Akshay Kumar had already refuted the claim that he met Ram Rahim. On November 16, Parkash Singh Badal, the former CM of the Punjab state was already interrogated by the probe team. The senior Badal said he had not ordered firing on the protesters agitating against the sacrilege incidents in October 2015.
