Angola seeks cooperation from Japan in advancing energy sector

The minister of Energy and Waters, João Baptista Borges, is since last Saturday (December 8) in Japan for a four-day visit at the invitation of the Japanese International Co-operation Agency (JICA).

Minister João Baptista Borges is heading a delegation that comprises several senior staffs of public companies in the area of energy, such as the National Electricity Supply Firm (ENDE) and the National Institute of Electricity and Water Services Regulations (IRSEA).

Meanwhile, experts from JICA and the Tokyo Electric Power Services Co. Ltd. (TEPSCO) have conducted since July 2017 a study on the energetic needs of Angola, which is part of the 2018-2040 Master Plan for the energetic sector.

ANGOP has learnt that the results of the study are to be presented to the Japanese authorities by Minister Borges during his visit to Japan.

The minister's programme include visits to power production and supply infrastructures and a participation in a seminar that is to be attended by representatives of about forty firms operating in the energetic domain.
