Naidu remembers the poor only during elections: AP CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu remembers the poor only during election time while he kept their welfare in mind all the time.

Reddy said only during polls Naidu uttered words like fishermen, BCs, SCs, STs or minorities and charged that the opposition leaders were unable to bear the good he is doing to poor people.

''My SCs should be good, my STs should be good, my minorities should be good,'' said Reddy addressing a public meeting at Nizampatnam on the sidelines of an event to distribute financial aid to fishermen in a video link shared by the state government.

He asked the people to compare the government of their son (Jagan) which yearns for their betterment to that of Naidu and others.

Reddy said he believes in good work, people and God rather than alliances and cunning tactics unlike Naidu and Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan. According to Reddy, no welfare scheme of Naidu comes to the mind of people when his name is invoked even after serving 14 years as chief minister.

Hitting out at Pawan Kalyan, the Chief Minister observed that the actor-politician comes to the southern state during the gap he finds between shooting two movies to address a few political meetings as directed by Naidu and attacks him. ''When they (Naidu and Kalyan) are in power they talk about Amaravathi and when they are out of power they stick to Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. They don't have any love on our state or the people here. They don't even have the thought to stay here,'' Reddy claimed.

Further, Reddy highlighted that he had built a house for himself even before coming to power as an opposition leader in Tadepalli and continues to live there whereas Naidu who was the CM between 2014 and 2019 had built a mansion in Jubilee Hills.
