African National Congress (ANC) spokesperson Pule Mabe has been accused of sexual harassment by his ex-personal assistant and this has caught the attention of the Hawks.

According to Pule Mabe’s former personal assistant, (who claims) he desired to establish a sexual relationship with him in return for the job. However, the 38-year old South African politician denied such claims.

The 26-year old woman, who did not wish to be named, is likely to present her case before the ANC’s grievance on December 12. In last month, the woman sent a grievance letter to the party’s deputy secretary general Jessie Duarte.

In the grievance letter, she accused Pule Mabe of sexual harassment, trimming her salary and emotional abuse when she rejected his sexual advances. She has also mentioned in the 14-page grievance letter how she became his personal assistant without going through a job interview.

“I, therefore, want to take you through my experience at HQ since my arrival in the beginning of August 2018,” she mentioned his offer in the letter, as reported by EWN.

The woman also said that Mabe notified in July 2018 that she would be commencing a new job as his personal assistant from August although she had no experience or qualification in the field.

However, the party has assured that it has started its internal process to interrogate the allegations.
