British Conservative lawmaker defects to opposition Labour Party

British Conservative lawmaker Natalie Elphicke said on Wednesday she had defected to the opposition Labour Party, becoming the second Conservative to do so in the last two weeks.

"Today I announce that I have decided to join the Labour Party and that I will sit in Parliament as a Labour MP," Elphicke said in a statement.
