Manipur is all set for the crucial task of vote counting as the state's Chief Electoral Officer, Pradeep Kumar Jha, confirmed that preparations are in full swing. The vote counting for the two Lok Sabha constituencies will commence at 8 am on June 4, spanning across 24 counting halls.

To ensure smooth conduct, a three-layer security cordon will be enforced at the counting centers, reflecting strict adherence to the guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission. The CEO remarked that all necessary arrangements are meticulously in place.

Outlining further details, Jha mentioned that five halls have been designated for postal ballots, with 25 counting observers appointed by the Election Commission of India poised to oversee the procedures. Each counting hall will also have an appointed ECIL engineer to manage EVM counting. In 2019, the BJP secured the Inner Manipur seat, while NPF won the Outer Manipur constituency.
