Polling in six Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 assembly segments in Odisha was predominantly peaceful, recording a turnout of 64.59%, according to an EC official.
Notably, a polling official and a voter succumbed to suspected heatstroke, while a woman was fatally stabbed allegedly by her husband in the voting queue.
'Polling was peaceful in all the 10,882 booths, save for minimal reports of EVM issues, which were swiftly addressed,' stated Chief Electoral Officer N B Dhal.
