BJP Unveils Candidates for Legislative Council Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its three candidates for the upcoming biennial Legislative Council elections. The seats will be vacant due to the retirement of current members. The Congress and JD(S) are also in the process of finalizing their candidates for the June 13 elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced its candidates for the biennial Legislative Council elections scheduled for June 13. The three candidates are former minister C T Ravi, sitting MLC N Ravikumar, and party leader Dr. M G Muley.

The seats are becoming vacant due to the retirement of sitting members on June 17. The Janata Dal (Secular) or JD(S) is expected to announce its candidate on Monday, according to party sources.

Meanwhile, the Congress has yet to reveal its seven candidates. Given the current strength in the Assembly, the Congress can field seven candidates, while the BJP-JD(S) coalition can field four. Key candidates for Congress may include Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, and Science and Technology Minister N S Boseraju.
