Representatives from the BJP and CPI(M), opposition parties in West Bengal, convened with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Monday to emphasize alleged manipulation threats by the ruling Trinamool Congress during the vote counting process slated for the Lok Sabha elections.
Leading the charge, BJP leader Shishir Bajoria pointed out instances of post-election violence and non-compliance with rules governing the workforce for the counting process, accusing the Trinamool Congress of large-scale engagement of non-permanent staff.
CPI(M) state secretary Md Salim echoed similar concerns, calling for stringent measures to ensure the integrity of the vote counting process and prevent incidents of rigging, akin to those allegedly witnessed during previous panchayat elections in the state.
