Historic Vote Counting Underway in Rajasthan - Over 13,000 Deployed

More than 13,000 personnel have been deployed to count votes for 25 Lok Sabha seats and a by-election in Bagidora, Rajasthan. Counting started at 8 am with tight security, and substantial arrangements, including 235 rooms for EVMs. BJP's chances of clean sweeps are slim based on exit polls.

In a significant electoral event, over 13,000 personnel have been deployed to manage the counting of votes for Rajasthan's 25 Lok Sabha seats and the Bagidora assembly seat by-election. Officials confirmed that operations commenced at 8 am today with comprehensive security measures in place.

The bypoll in Bagidora, part of the Banswara parliamentary constituency, coincided with the second phase of the Rajasthan Lok Sabha polls held on April 26, following the first phase on April 19. The assembly seat became vacant after Congress MLA Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya defected to the BJP and campaigned as their candidate for the Banswara seat.

Chief Election Officer Praveen Gupta reported rigorous preparations, with vote counting for postal ballots beginning first and subsequently from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at 8:30 am. He further noted that tight, three-tier security is maintained at all counting centers, ensuring the process's integrity.
