During a press conference on the eve of vote counting, Kumar refuted claims of influenced district magistrates and fake narratives being spread to hinder the general elections.

Accompanied by election commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and S S Sandhu, Kumar called for proof from the opposition to substantiate their claims of electoral roll issues and EVM efficacy. He noted a suspicious pattern in the timing of these allegations, hinting they surfaced just days before polling commenced.

The Commission, prepared to face foreign interference, now finds itself addressing allegations from within the country. Asserting the need for timely elections, Kumar reflected on the logistical challenges of elections held in peak summer. He committed to countering misinformation in future elections and urged for clarity before the vote counting begins.
