Kamala Harris to Represent US at Ukraine Peace Summit

Vice President Kamala Harris will represent the United States at this month's global peace summit, organized by Switzerland, to address the war in Ukraine. This significant event has been promoted by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The White House announced that Harris will attend the meeting in Lucerne on June 15, while President Joe Biden will be at a campaign fundraiser in Los Angeles, hosted by actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

“The Vice President will underscore the Biden-Harris Administration's commitment to supporting Ukraine's effort to secure a just and lasting peace, based on Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and the principles of the UN charter,” stated her communications director, Kirsten Allen. Additionally, Harris will reaffirm US support for Ukrainians defending themselves against ongoing Russian aggression. Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, will join Harris as part of the US delegation.

President Zelenskyy has been a strong advocate for the summit, urging world leaders to attend, while accusing Russia, with assistance from China, of attempting to undermine the event.
