Rahul Gandhi Secures Wayanad with Significant Margin

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala with a margin of over 3.5 lakh votes against CPI's Annie Raja. Gandhi secured 6,47,445 votes, fewer than his 2019 tally, but maintained a strong lead. BJP state President K Surendran gained 1,41,045 votes in this election.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emerged victorious in the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala, clinching a margin of over 3.5 lakh votes against CPI's Annie Raja. The Election Commission's data revealed that Gandhi garnered 6,47,445 votes, which was a decrease from his 2019 tally of 7,06,367 votes.

Despite the lower vote count, Gandhi maintained a substantial lead, winning by a margin of 3,64,422 votes against his closest rival, CPI's Annie Raja, who secured 2,83,023 votes. In the 2019 elections, CPI's candidate P P Suneer had earned 2,74,597 votes but lost to Gandhi by a margin of 4,31,770 votes.

Notably, in the previous Lok Sabha polls, BJP's ally Bharath Dharma Jana Sena competed from Wayanad with Thushar Vellappally as their candidate, who only managed to secure 78,816 votes. This time, BJP state President K Surendran faced Gandhi and improved his party's performance by securing 1,41,045 votes.
