AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto confirmed on Wednesday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has received a resounding mandate to form the government at the Centre, surpassing the majority threshold of 272 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Mahto is traveling to Delhi to participate in a crucial NDA meeting, following an invitation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, according to the party's spokesperson. The AJSU Party, a steadfast NDA ally in Jharkhand, secured the Giridih constituency as part of its seat-sharing arrangement with the BJP, with its candidate Chandraprakash Choudhary defeating the JMM's Mathura Mahato by a significant margin of 80,880 votes.
Addressing the media, Mahto highlighted the NDA's comprehensive mandate and long-standing alliance with the BJP. He noted that the upcoming NDA meeting will focus on evaluating the poll outcomes, analyzing regional political strategies, and addressing the dip in seat counts in certain states. Mahto also emphasized the critical leadership roles played by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, both of whom are expected to attend the meeting. Furthermore, Mahto pointed out the need to address the marginalization of tribal communities in Jharkhand and strategize for the forthcoming assembly elections.
