West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will convene a meeting with senior TMC leaders and newly elected Lok Sabha MPs on Saturday. The focus of the meeting is to chalk out the party's strategy in the Lok Sabha, following a resounding electoral triumph.

Under Banerjee's leadership, the TMC maintained its dominance in West Bengal, securing 29 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats, while the BJP secured 12 and the Congress just one.

Rajya Sabha MPs and district presidents are also expected to attend the meeting. A party leader stated, 'The role and strategy of the party in the Lok Sabha will be discussed. The party may also decide on who will be the leader of the TMC in the Lok Sabha.'

In the last Lok Sabha, 75-year-old Sudip Bandopadhyay served as the leader of the TMC in the lower house and retained his Kolkata North seat for the fourth consecutive term.

The meeting will also review the seats where the party failed to secure a win.
