Biden and Macron participated in ceremonies commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and the following day met separately with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris. Their engagements underscored the urgent need to support Kyiv's resistance against Russia's invasion.

The state visit commenced with a ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe, featuring a wreath-laying at France's tomb of the unknown soldier, followed by a military parade along the Champs-Élysées leading to the Élysée Palace.
