In a notable development, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third term cabinet took oath, one in every five members hailed from the Rajya Sabha.
The newly formed Council of Ministers boasts of 72 members, including the Prime Minister himself. Of these, 13 are from the Upper House while 57 are newly elected MPs from the Lok Sabha.
Notably, Ravneet Singh Bittu and George Kurian, who were sworn in as Ministers of State, do not belong to either house and must secure parliamentary membership within the next six months.
